The historic surroundings of the Grand Council Room at the Château de Neuchâtel provided the venue for an emotional and unique ceremony on Saturday 23rd July 2022.

The current 22nd edition FIFA Master class was joined by the 20th edition class as they had been specially invited back to Neuchâtel by CIES so that they too could experience the same ceremony.

The CIES Football Observatory launches its 2022/23 season with the final tables’ forecasting for 23 top divisions of UEFA member associations. The predictions were carried out from a statistical model including teams’ performances over the two previous seasons, current players’ experience capital and clubs’ transfer market expenditure. The full tables are available for free in the 385th Weekly Post.

As the 20th edition of the FIFA Master began their sustainability module at SDA Bocconi in February 2020, little did they know this would be the last class they would have ‘in-person’ for the remainder of the academic year. 

Fast forward two years, and this same class found themselves making their way back to Switzerland for the chance to finally reunite, thanks to an incredible invitation from CIES.

Reflecting on the reunion, the field visits and the experiences across Switzerland during the week, on behalf of the 20th edition I would like to thank everyone at CIES and the FMA for making this dream a reality!

It meant so much to us all to gather again, reminiscing about the past and planning for the future, and was only possible thanks to such incredible hospitality and the FIFA Master family.
