FIFA Master Conference 2013

On 17th July 2014, the International Centre for Sports Studies (CIES) will welcome representatives from the sports industry to Neuchâtel, Switzerland, for its annual ‘FIFA Master Conference’. This year’s conference marks the 14th anniversary of the FIFA International MA in Management, Law and Humanities of Sport (the “FIFA Master”).

Ranked as the leading postgraduate sports management course in the World by SportBusiness International in 2014, CIES’ FIFA Master will welcome the sports industry to this special one-day international conference. Taking place on Thursday 17th July 2014 from 13.00-17.15 at University of Neuchâtel, Aula des Jeunes-Rives in Neuchâtel, the conference will showcase the scientific contributions that the 14th edition of the FIFA Master (click here for detailed information about this year's postgraduates) have made to the sports industry with their detailed final project research.

The conference is free to attend and open to all individuals working in sport.

Player transfer value calculator

The CIES Football Observatory continues its mission of producing innovative football research. We are now pleased to launch a new online tool to allow our ever increasing audience to assess the current transfer value of players who have spent the last six months in the big-5 European leagues.

The new transfer value calculator uses an exclusive algorithm created on the basis of nearly 1,500 fee paying transfers which have occurred during the previous five years at big-5 league clubs. The exclusive algorithm will continue to be updated after every transfer window to take into account the latest market trends.

FIFA President Sepp Blatter receives commemorative plaque from FMA Committee.

On July 2nd the FIFA Master Alumni Association (FMA) organized in partnership with Fundação Getúlio Vargas (FGV), a world renowned centre for quality education, an outstanding Seminar which discussed the most current and relevant topics in the sports industry.

Over 400 people, including more than 80 accredited press members from the medias gathered to follow a rich and informative programme at the Theatre Maison de France, in the centre of Rio de Janeiro.

Diploma Award at Notre Dame University - Louaize (NDU) in Beirut

The first fifteen students at Notre Dame University - Louaize (NDU), the academic partner of the International Centre for Sports Studies (CIES) in Lebanon, were awarded their diplomas during a ceremony held last week at Zouk Mosbeh campus near Beirut.

Under the high authority of NDU President Father Walid Moussa, the graduation ceremony allowed the many participants to discover the host of sport-related activities and projects at the university and also to appreciate very impressive taekwondo and aikido demonstrations.

Two alumni of the FIFA/CIES Programme in Sport Management to share the FIFA/CIES Network Scholarship

Two alumni of the FIFA/CIES Programme in Sport Management were awarded a scholarship which will allow them to attend the 15th edition of the FIFA Master beginning in September 2014.

Following the selection process by the Scientific Committee, two alumni of the FIFA/CIES Programme in Sport Management will share the FIFA/CIES Network Scholarship. They will be able to attend the courses making up the FIFA Master (ranked n°1 Sport Management Master in the World by Sport Business International in 2014).
