Women's Football Survey: results and application approvals revealed

Women's Football Survey produced by the CIES Football Observatory

Published with less than four months to go before women footballers take centre-stage at the Women's World Cup in Canada, the 84-page survey was produced by the CIES Football Observatory using data collected in 2014 by FIFA via an online survey.

The FIFA Women’s Football Survey was conducted in 2014 with the aim to gather information on six key areas related to women’s football. The areas range from governance and integration to perception needs and challenges within women’s football.

FIFA Master 15th edition: January summary

Summary of the FIFA Master Sports Management module, by Kirsty Burrows and Guglielmo Cammino, class representatives for Milano

Fresh from a well needed Christmas break, during which the 15th Edition of the FIFA master spread across the World, enjoying sun sand and snow with family and friends, the class headed to Milan, ready to start the Sports Management module at SDA Bocconi.

This second module, following the Humanities module in Leicester, would make the second third of our journey, the final third being the Law module in Neuchâtel which commences in April.

CIES Football Observatory Monthly Report: tomorrow’s stars

"Talent scouting: an experience capital approach"

 

The CIES Football Observatory published today a second Monthly Report on “Talent scouting: an experience capital approach”. This report identifies the most promising players under 23 years of age in 31 top division championships of UEFA member associations

Thanks to this analysis we are able to highlight not only well-known players such as Luke Shaw, Raheem Sterling, Romelu Lukaku or Thibaut Courtois, but also footballers not yet taking part in the big-5 leagues but of whom we will surely hear much about in the future such as, among others, Tonny Vilhena, Jetro Willems, Pione Sisto or Georgi Milanov.

Peru: Enrolment procedure for the third FIFA/CIES Programme in sport management

Opening of the enrolment procedure for the third FIFA/CIES Programme in Peru

The Universidad San Martín de Porres (USMP) in Lima, a CIES partner since 2012, has officially started the enrolment procedure for the third FIFA/CIES Programme in Sport Management to be organised in Peru. Classes will start on 4 May 2015.

The FIFA/CIES Programme allows people from various professional and sporting backgrounds to familiarise themselves with modern management tools in key areas such as sport marketing, sponsorship, law, management, communication, finances and event management.
