Round table : "Olympic Agenda 2020: Towards a new bidding model for the Olympic Games ?"

This round table will be held in French with simultaneous translation in English

 

The 127th IOC Session which took place in Monaco between the 8th and 9th December 2014, established the Olympic Agenda 2020 with its 40 recommendations to define the future vision of the Olympic Movement.

This strategic review supported the continued development of various areas, such as the Olympic Games bidding process, main competition programme, the reinforcement of good governance, ethical principles and the creation of an Olympic TV channel.

Routledge International Handbook of Sport and Legacy Published

The CIES is delighted to announce that the Routledge International Handbook of Sport and Legacy has been published.

 

This major work, which contains twenty five carefully commissioned international chapters, is the culmination of joint research between SDA Bocconi School of Management in Italy and the International Centre for Sports History and Culture at De Montfort University, UK.

Since its inception, the project has been supported by the Centre International d’Etude du Sport (CIES) in Switzerland.

FIFA Master 15th edition: last month in Milan!

FIFA Master 15th edition at San Siro

 

It was not with bright eyes or light hearts that we started our last month in Milan!


This was due to a combination of  the brilliant intensity of the module, which transported us through the crucial “need to knows” of the various disciplines of sports management in great depth for such a short time, but also because of the wonderful experience that we have enjoyed in such a great city as Milan - A place rich  in sport, history, culture and entertainment.

Big-5 Weekly Post No. 108

 

Issue number 108 of the CIES Football Observatory Big-5 Weekly Post presents the rankings of the club that obtained the best results during the last 10 domestic league matches compared to previous games.

This allows us highlighting the teams that are out of shape, as well as those whose performance level is on the increase.

Spain: Another final project materialises

David Domingo Martínez, a “pioneer” of the FIFA/CIES Programme in Spain, shares the genesis of his work with us

 

David Domingo Martínez, an alumnus of the first class of the FIFA/CIES Programme organised in cooperation with Universidad Rey Juan Carlos (URJC) in Madrid and the Real Federación Española de Fútbol (RFEF), saw the conclusions of his final project materialise at Motorland-Alcañiz at the beginning of March 2015.
