Welcome to the 17th edition of the International MA in Management, Law and Humanities of Sport – the "FIFA Master"

"FIFA Master" 17th edition at DMU, Leicester

Thirty-one carefully selected international postgraduate students were welcomed by Pro Vice-Chancellor of De Montfort University Barbara Matthews MBE, CIES Council of Foundation President Pierre Cornu, CIES Director Prof. Denis Oswald, General Secretary Vincent Schatzmann, Scientific Directors from the three partner universities and course alumni representatives during a special ceremony held at De Montfort University’s Trinity House.

Liverpool heads the table of transfer incomes

Issue number 157 of the CIES Football Observatory Weekly Post presents the 100 teams having generated the most income from the transfer of players to big-5 league clubs since 2010. Liverpool tops the rankings with €442 million, ahead of Valencia (€432 million) and Juventus (€415 million).

Poland: Damian Juszczyk appointed to the position of Press Officer at Wisla Kraków SA

We are pleased to announce that Damian Juszczyk, a Polish 1st edition alumnus of the FIFA/CIES International University Network Programme in Sports Management, which is organized at Kozminski University, Poland, has been appointed to the position of Press Officer at Wisla Kraków SA. The club, who play in the Polish first division, was founded in 1906 and is one of the oldest and most successful teams in the country.

New transfer spending record: Manchester City tops the table

The 17th edition of the CIES Football Observatory Monthly Report analyses monetary flows related to the transfer of players within European football. Since 2010, big-5 league club investments have grown almost continually year after year to reach a new record of €4.2 billion in 2016.
