“The development of young football-players: The training methods of Jean-Marc Guillou”

The International Centre for Sport Studies (CIES), in cooperation with Neuchâtel Xamax FCS, will be organizing a conference which will gather a large number of professionals from the world of sport.

This special event will start with an introduction by Michel Decastel, coach of the Neuchâtel Xamax FCS 1st Team. The conference will then continue with the former French international and former Xamax player, Jean-Marc Guillou. He will return to Neuchâtel to share his vision for football and reveal some of the secrets of his training methods.

Seventh edition of the FIFA/CIES University Network Prize: 15 projects competing!

For the seventh edition of the FIFA/CIES International University Network, CIES has received fifteen projects before the stipulated deadline. An international jury will next select the award-winning project on the 23rd of January 2017.

January’s Monthly Report: who will be champion?

The 21st Monthly Report of the CIES Football Observatory presents a predictive analysis of the final rankings of the big-5 European leagues. The prediction is based on a multivariate statistical model taking into account the offensive and defensive performances of big-5 league teams until the 31st December 2016, as well as the level of their grip on the game.

Hosted by the National Development School of Peking University (NDS), the International Centre for Sports Studies (CIES) and Dentsu Japan (Dentsu), the Asian Seminar of Sports Marketing was co-organized by Oceans Sports & Entertainment Inc. (Oceans) and Waseda University (Waseda) at Peking University on 23rd December 2016.

Ana Rossell: from theory to practice!

Ana Rossell, an alumnus of the FIFA/CIES Executive Programme in Sports Management (Curso Universitario Superior de Gestión del Deporte), which is organised in cooperation with Universidad Rey Juan Carlos (URJC) and the Real Federación Española de Fútbol (RFEF), has proved that her course is not only theoretical. Indeed, three years after completing her studies, she is today the successful manager of a company which implements and continues her final group work on the theme of women’s football.
