Would Yugoslavia’s fate have been different, and its unity preserved if Faruk Hadzibegic, a Bosnian from Sarajevo, had scored his decisive penalty in the quarter finals of the Football World Cup against Maradona’s Argentina on 30th June 1990 in Florence?
To answer this question, the CIES, in collaboration with the Museum of Art and History of Neuchâtel, has organized within the series of events called ‘Printemps Culturel 2017: « Carrefour Sarajevo »’ an outstanding evening based on the book “The last penalty of Yugoslavia”.
