Interested in applying for the 19th edition of the FIFA Master? Hurry up, only one month left!

As of 2nd October 2017, the International Centre for Sports Studies (CIES) has officially opened the application process for the 19th edition (2018-2019) of the FIFA Master. The deadline to apply is Friday 5th January 2018, midday (12am) Central European Time.

Monthly Report highlights diversity of 2018 FIFA World Cup™ squads

The CIES Football Observatory and FIFA have joined forces to analyse the profiles of the players who were fielded by the 32 qualified teams on the road to Russia. The analysis highlights the diversity of the squads in terms of both age and height, as well as the importance of migration with almost two thirds of footballers currently playing for clubs outside of the association they represent.

8th Edition of the FIFA/CIES University Network Prize: 15 Projects Competing!

For the 8th edition of the FIFA/CIES International University Network, CIES has received fifteen projects before the stipulated deadline. An international jury will next select the award-winning project on 26th January 2018.

As the temperature begins to drop and the days get shorter and shorter here in Leicester, we have managed to keep our spirits high with a round the world look at the Internationalisation of Sport with Professor Pierre Lanfranchi. Within this module, we have explored topics ranging from African and Asian football, racism and the history of the IOC and FIFA.

FIFA/CIES University Network: an alumna serving the community

Anna Mody Ndiaye, who attended the first edition of the FIFA/CIES Executive Programme organised in cooperation with Cheikh Anta Diop University (UCAD) in Dakar, is now devoting her knowledge and experience to the community. As the founder of the "Femme Développement Sport et Management" entity (Development of Women in Sport and Management), she is supervising the implementation of several sports-related projects in Senegal.
