The 2018 SportBusiness International global rankings have today named the FIFA Master International MA in Management, Law and Humanities of Sport as Europe’s No.1 ranked Postgraduate Sport Management course for a record sixth time. The FIFA Master is now the first and only course to receive this top award on six separate occasions, with previous No.1 European rankings in 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2017.

The last Weekly Post before the summer break ranks teams participating in the 2018 FIFA World Cup according to the transfer value of squad members, estimated from the CIES Football Observatory algorithm. At the top three positions of the table are France (€1.41 billion), England (€1.39 billion) and Brazil (€1.27 billion).

During the tournament, the international conference Sport and the Future will take place in Moscow, starting on 29 June. The event will gather over 300 representatives from international sporting organisations, leading experts on worldwide sports and the heads of international and national football associations, leagues and clubs.

Harry Kane has become the world most expensive player from a transfer value perspective according to the exclusive CIES Football Observatory algorithm. Following his new outstanding season, the Englishman is now worth €201.2 million. Tottenham’s striker outranks two Paris St-Germain’s players: Neymar (€197.5 m) and Kylian Mbappé (€186.5 m). Stanley Raubenheimer, who was awarded the NMU/FIFA/CIES Executive Programme in Sports Management in 2014, has just been appointed as coach of the South African national women’s rugby team. He will take charge of the team for their forthcoming tour of the United Kingdom in November 2018.
