As of 1 October 2019, the International Centre for Sports Studies (CIES) has officially opened the application process for the 21st edition (2020-2021) of the FIFA Master. 

Organised by the International Centre for Sport Studies (CIES) in partnership with De Montfort University in Leicester (England), SDA Bocconi School of Management in Milan (Italy) and the University of Neuchâtel (Switzerland), the International MA in Management, Law and Humanities of Sport - the FIFA Master was created to provide management education to the world of sport.

Ricardo Izecson dos Santos Leite, or perhaps better known as Kaka, received in August his Diploma from the FIFA/CIES Executive Programme in Sports Management organised in Brazil by the Fundaçaõ Getulio Vargas (FGV). A legendary footballer, "Ballon d'Or", World Champion, winner of the UEFA Champions League and many other competitions, here he gives us some impressions of the power of education, the challenges facing Brazilian sport and football in particular, the growth of women's football and a glimpse into his future after graduation.

The International Centre for Sports Studies (CIES) and FIBA have published the eighth edition of the International Basketball Migration Report, a seasonal insight into the migratory trends and tendencies of the sport across the globe.

The 48th Monthly Report of the CIES Football Observatory analyses the evolution of the number and characteristics of footballers having played on loan for teams of the five major European championships during the last decade. It shows that clubs from these leagues take more and more players on loan: from 2.62 per club and season between 2009 and 2014, up to 3.09 between 2014 and 2019 (+18%). In 2018/2019, footballers on loan played a record number of minutes in the big-5: 11.5%.
