2020 FIFA/CIES University Network Prize: And the Winner is...

During its first deliberations, the Jury unanimously pre-selected three projects from the 15 competing entries due to their quality and the relevance of the themes addressed. In the second round of discussions, the Jury made a unanimous decision and awarded the 2020 FIFA/CIES Network Prize to the project presented by Nelson Mandela University. They also highlighted the quality of the project titled “Plan Sport” (second) and also the Brazilian project (third).

Half-way through

With the end of February, the referee blew the whistle signalling the end of the first half of the 20th edition of the FIFA Master.  We have now officially completed over 50% of the course. It is a strange thought realising that we are in the second half of this amazing experience but if it is going to be at least as good as the first part of our study experience, then we cannot wait!

Table Ronde: "Lutter contre le racisme dans le football, l'affaire de tous?" REPORTEE

En Suisse, il incombe au premier chef à l’Etat de conduire la lutte contre les discriminations de toute nature. Cette action publique est redoublée par l’engagement d’un nombre considérable d’acteurs de la société civile qui s’impliquent dans la protection des diversités. Mais qu’en est-il du monde du sport, et plus spécifiquement de celui du football, des institutions et des protagonistes qui le composent ? Pour tenter de répondre à ces questions, un footballeur international, un dirigeant d’une association faîtière, un journaliste et un historien débattront des problèmes, des enjeux, mais également des démarches mises en place pour combattre le racisme dans le football.

Squad valuation: 6 clubs over one billion

The 287th edition of the Weekly Post ranks clubs from the five major European leagues according to the value on the transfer market of players under contract. The analysis takes into account the 20 players per club with the highest values as per the algorithm exclusively developed by the CIES Football Observatory research team.
