Top ranking success continues for the FIFA Master 2020

The FIFA Master, which recently celebrated its 20th anniversary, has been named the No.1 Postgraduate Sports Management course in Europe for a record 8th time in new course rankings published by SportBusiness for 2020. The course was also named No.3 in the world by the same publication.

Le Centre International d’Etude du Sport (CIES) en collaboration avec le Club 44 et le Musée d’histoire de la Chaux-de-Fonds organise, le mardi 15 septembre 2020, dès 20h15 au Club 44 de la Chaux-de-Fonds une table ronde intitulée :

« E-Sport – Le Futur du Sport ? »

Alors que la pratique du E-sport s'est longtemps cantonnée à une simple activité ludique, ses développements les plus récents dévoilent une évolution vers une pratique compétitive qui, sous bien des aspects, s'approche de celle du sport traditionnel, au point de revendiquer une reconnaissance comme une discipline sportive à part entière.

What about the home advantage after the Covid-19 pandemic?

Home teams traditionally win more matches than away ones. This is often explained by the support of local fans. Issue number 304 of the CIES Football Observatory Weekly Post analyses the difference in the percentage of home wins before and after the COVID-19 pandemic in 63 leagues worldwide. It reveals that the home advantage persisted without spectators, even though in a less marked way.

COVID-19... Is it really necessary to underline that the emergence and spread of the virus has also disrupted the work of the 17 universities of the FIFA/CIES International University Network?

Most of them have been confronted with the systematic closure of their campuses and the need to quickly switch from 100% face-to-face courses to fully online classes.
