International Women's Day and the FIFA Master - #ChoosetoChallenge

Monday 8th March is International Women’s Day (IWD) 2021. First established in the 1900’s, the day is a global celebration of the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women.

The theme for this year is #ChooseToChallenge and the FIFA Master International MA, which recently celebrated its 20th anniversary, will be marking the 2021 edition of IWD with a special campaign throughout the entire week to further highlight the achievements of our female alumni now working around the world

Graduation ceremony for first-ever FIFA Diploma in Football Law students

Following a unique journey that started in Miami in February 2020, 26 professionals today graduated from FIFA’s first-ever Diploma in Football Law during a virtual ceremony. FIFA President Gianni Infantino and the Director of the International Centre for Sports Studies (CIES) Denis Oswald joined the ceremony from the Home of FIFA in Zurich and the CIES headquarters in Neuchâtel, respectively, and passed on their congratulations to all diploma holders.

Manchester United has most sustainable squad in the Big 5

Major teams are built up over a period of years. The 63rd CIES Football Observatory Monthly Report presents an innovative approach to comparatively assess the sustainability of squads based on three elements: players’ age, the length of their stay in the employer club and the duration of their contracts. According to these criteria, Manchester United currently has the most sustainable squad among the 98 big-5 league clubs.

February marks the midway point of our FIFA Master adventure, and as the Milan winter slowly gives way to the first signs of spring, and the class of the 21st edition gets ready to tackle the second half of the journey, we take this opportunity to reflect on our unique experience so far.
