The Centre International d’Etude du Sport (CIES) and FIFA are proud to announce that the new 2019 SportBusiness International global rankings have again ranked the FIFA Master International MA in Management, Law and Humanities of Sport as Europe’s No.1 course for a record seventh time and also as the No.3 ranked course in the world.

Le métier d’agent de joueurs de football fait fantasmer. Dans l’imaginaire public, il rime souvent avec argent facile. Qu’en est-il vraiment ? Deux agents chevronnés, Christophe Hutteau et Lorenzo Falbo, vont révéler les dessous du métier en compagnie du Grand Reporter à L’Équipe, François Verdenet et avec la modération du responsable de l’Observatoire du football CIES, Raffaele Poli.

Monthly report shows development of women's football

This new Monthly Report analyses the composition of teams participating in the five of the most developed women’s professional leagues worldwide: four European leagues (Germany, Sweden, France and England), as well as the National Women’s Soccer League in the United States. It reveals that the age of players increases, international mobility grows and the concentration of the best footballers within a limited number of clubs independently of their origin pursues its course.

FIFA Master and the 2019 FIFA Women's World: from classroom to the pitch

In March this year, a record crowd for a top-flight domestic women’s game in Europe of 60,739 watched FC Barcelona Femení beat Club Atlético de Madrid Femenino 2-0 at the Wanda Metropolitano stadium in Madrid. This record attendance beat the previous European best of 48,121 who had attended the Athletic Bilbao Femenino v. Atletico de Madrid Femenino Cup match played earlier in January. Later in March, 39,027 fans watched current Serie A Women Champions Juventus beat Fiorentina Women’s FC 1-0 at the Allianz Stadium in Turin. It is clear that interest in the women’s game has never been greater.

Most expensive Big-5 league players: Salah behind Mbappé

Issue number 265 of the Weekly Post presents the 100 players from the five major European leagues with the highest transfer values according to the freshly updated and further improved CIES Football Observatory algorithm. Three forwards are in the top three positions: Kylian Mbappé (€252M), Mohammed Salah (€219M) and Raheem Sterling (€208M).

14 FIFA/CIES executive programme students and alumni appointed by FC Diez media venue management consultants for CONMEBOL

This is a great success for the students and alumni of the FIFA/CIES Executive Programme organised in South America. Thanks to the initiative of Sebastián Rubio, CIES Coordinator in Peru, and Michael Boys, CIES Coordinator in Chile, FC Diez Media and CIES joined forces to recruit some of the Venue Management Consultants for two prestigious competitions, namely CONMEBOL Libertadores and CONMEBOL Sudamericana.

At the end of May, the 19th edition FIFA Master class completed their timetabled lectures, with attention now turning to research for their individual Final Projects.
